Rochester, NY: Test Automation Engineer/Architect (CLD, CTD)
Position Summary
Technical leadership position responsible for developing test automation platform solutions. These solutions will be deployed at multiple locations worldwide for Engineering and Manufacturing verification of the new System, Hardware and Software products. Individual will use their expertise to ensure maintainability and scalability of the test automation solutions, successful execution of their development, deployment and adoption by other test developers and end users.
Principal Responsibilities
- Work with internal customers to analyze and understand their needs
- Develop and maintain test automation road map and phased implementation plan
- Present proposed solutions to leadership to attain agreement
- Lead test automation platform development and deployment of equipment and associated processes
- Guide, train, and mentor developers and end users
Periodic international travel may be required.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or adjacent technical discipline is required, Master's degree preferred
Technical Leadership
- Ability to create, plan, and propose framework level solutions, advocate for them, implement key elements and guide other team members in deployment
- Ability to guide, train, and mentor engineers and technicians on best practices in test architecture, test automation, product testability and verification processes across multiple business locations
Technical Expertise
- Expert in HW, SW, and System Test Automation Architecture for modularity, scalability and reuse
- Advanced LabVIEW techniques and design patterns
- Thorough understanding of embedded and application SW design
- Expert in product verification / validation, testability and continuous process improvement
- Expert in test data management and analysis
- Object oriented programming
- Thorough understanding of electronic HW design – digital, analog, and RF
Tools and Associated Processes Expertise
- LabVIEW expert, CLD required
- TestStand test executive, CTD required
- Test Complete or similar application test automation tool
- Current or recent Certified LabVIEW Architect, CLA preferred
- Current or recent Certified TestStand Architect, CTA preferred
- Experience with multi-site international development and deployment of test solutions preferred
