Rochester, NY. Test Automation Engineer/Architect with LabVIEW.

The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for developing software solutions for Engineering integrating and verification; and manufacturing functional validation of new commercial security products at the board, unit and system levels. The position requires active participation in the product development process to ensure that both product and test solutions meet high Bosch quality standards. There is potential for this role to develop into an architect level role responsible for development of automated regression platform solutions for world class innovative products.

Automated solutions development

o    Work with internal customers to analyze, understand, and document their automation test requirements

o    Develop product integration and verification solutions including hardware, software, and instrumentation

o    Participate in building a reusable and scalable automated regression test platform

o    Build and upgrade product specific test solutions

Verification and Troubleshooting

o    Design verification testing at unit and system levels for use by development teams

o    Assist and train engineers and technicians in using automated test solutions

o    Troubleshoot product and test equipment, propose and (where applicable) implement fixes

Communication

o    Develop and conduct internal training for the automated test stations

o    Participate in technical meetings and project reviews

o    Share technical expertise and mentor less experienced technical professionals

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Electronic Technology or Computer Science is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Proficiency and minimum of 3 years’ experience in LabVIEW programming
  • Demonstrable knowledge of test and measurement instrumentation
  • Good understanding of electronics and hardware design- digital, analog, and RF
  • Periodic international travel required
  • Training of international personnel
  • Ability to adopt to a continuously changing environment
  • Effective troubleshooting skills down to component level

The following are preferred:

  • CLAD or higher certification
  • Advanced LabVIEW techniques and design patterns
  • Experience with NI Test Stand
  • Familiarity with equipment calibration practices
  • Understanding of RF principles
  • Experience with Test Complete or similar application test automation tool
